Wildlife factsheets now available!

Remember way back when, when Eyes on the Wild volunteer Sandra Kooper made those amazing graphics about the canids of Cedar Creek? (if not, check out that blog post here) Well, she's been working behind the scenes since thing in collaboration with our fabulous social media intern Emma Bublitz to create some information sheets about a handful of animals regularly seen on Cedar Creek's trail cameras. We'll use these in our education programs, but they are also available for those of you interested in diving deeper into the natural history of the animals you're seeing while classifying. Plus, they are gorgeous and awesome and informative!

In addition to basic descriptions and natural history, each factsheet contains track drawings and a range map, most of which were provided to us by the ultra-talented Jon Poppele (who you may remember from blog posts like this one about our seasonal tracking surveys). We've also compiled some fun facts about what makes these particular animals fascinating, and color-coded them according to their diets! It's amazing to have such a collaborative, hard-working team making resources like this available to everyone!

We are slowly but surely building a library of these factsheets for the animals found at the reserve. We've got 16 completed, plus a handful of others in progress right now, but if there is a species you would like us to highlight please leave us a comment! If you'd like to access these and other educational resources as we develop them, you can visit the Education tab on eyesonwild.com. Simply click on 'About' at the top right of any screen on the Zooniverse page, then click 'Education'. If you scroll down, you'll find a Resources section! We look forward to building this out as the summer progresses.

And if you're a teacher who uses Eyes on the Wild in your classroom and would like to share your curricular resources, lesson plans or other materials, please reach out to Caitlin (caitlin@umn.edu)! We'd love to highlight you!
